Dawn & Dusk Jacket

The Dawn & Dusk Jacket is a celebration of opposites,, blending circuscore, clowncore, and celestial aesthetics into a cozy everyday zip-up. Originally designed by @Thaisibean, winner of our 2024 Design with Mochi Instagram Contest, we had the joy of collaborating with her to bring this imaginative concept to life.

Inspired by the transition between day and night, the jacket is split into two distinct halves. One side is wrapped in deep twilight blues, while the other glows with bright sunrise oranges. The contrasting color blocking continues across the body, sleeves, hood, and hem, creating a striking mirrored design that's playful from every angle.

The celestial details tell the story of each half. The blue sleeve is scattered with stars beneath an embroidered full moon on the shoulder, while the orange sleeve features bold circus-inspired stripes crowned with an embroidered sun. Where the sleeves meet the yoke, decorative crosshatch stitching adds a handcrafted finishing touch. An embroidered sun and moon motif rests on the orange chest panel.

The hood features contrasting day and night panels with matching orange drawstrings, while the custom moon-shaped zipper pull adds a little bit of magic every time you zip it closed. Functional side pockets make it practical enough for daily wear, and the contrasting hem finishes the jacket with the opposite color on each side, tying both halves together.

Comfort was just as important as the artwork. By combining multiple knit fabrics, each chosen for its color and texture, the jacket feels substantial without sacrificing softness, making it an easy layer whether you're headed to a convention, a chilly evening walk, or simply embracing your favorite whimsical aesthetic.

Due to manual measurements, please allow for a 1.5"to 3cm difference.

Fitting advice: If you want a baggy look, pick your usual size. If you typically wear an L, pick an L.

If you want a more snug fit, size down.

If you are tall (5'10 and over) it is recommended that you get a size 3XL at least to account for arm length, but make sure to measure to check! If you are tall and your shoulder measurement is smaller than the listed size, you can expect the sleeves to be a bit longer due to the extra shoulder size.

For example:

If you have a 40" (101cm bust) and want a baggy fit, size M is recommended.

If you have a 45" (114cm) bust and want a slightly snug fit, size M or L is recommended.

The models are both wearing size XL.

Fabric Composition & Care

The Dawn & Dusk Jacket combines three premium knit fabrics, each selected to achieve the rich color blocking while maintaining a soft, comfortable feel. The varying fiber blends allow each section of the garment to retain its intended appearance and texture without compromising everyday wearability.

• Blue Yoke, Hood & Left Sleeve (53% Cotton, 47% Polyester):
  A balanced cotton-poly blend that offers softness, durability, and excellent shape retention.
• Orange Yoke, Hood & Right Sleeve (100% Cotton):
  Natural cotton provides a soft, breathable feel with a comfortable, lived-in texture.
• Main Body Panels (88% Cotton, 12% Polyester):
  A predominantly cotton fabric with a touch of polyester for improved durability, color retention, and structure while maintaining a soft hand feel.

Why These Fabrics?

Each fabric was carefully selected to achieve the jacket's unique patchwork construction while balancing comfort and longevity.

• Cotton provides softness, breathability, and everyday comfort.
• Polyester enhances durability, reduces wrinkling, and helps the jacket maintain its shape through repeated wear.
• Using different blends throughout the garment allows each color panel to achieve its intended appearance while creating a cohesive, comfortable finished piece.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold, inside out on a gentle cycle with like colors.
• Zip the jacket closed before washing to help maintain its shape.
• Use mild detergent; avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
• Hang or lay flat to dry.
• Steam or iron inside out on low heat if needed.
