The Peacock Moth and Mothman Cropped Jackets

 

We're thrilled to show you the first Mothman Cropped Jacket sample, which is en route to us now! Once received, we will be checking that the fit and length are the same as the Death's Head Moth Cropped Jacket, and evaluating if any other changes will be needed. 

While a late May delivery is still possible for this project, the print factory handling this jacket's printing has historically caused delays for us. To set expectations for that possibility, we will be lengthening the Estimated Shipping Date range, while continuing to communicate our timeline goals to our production partners.

As with the previous projects, we welcome customers to reach out and let us know if the rest of your order has been waiting on this PSPO, and we would be happy to ship your items in advance of these jackets at no additional cost.

The Peacock Moth Cropped Jacket Concept Art

 

The Peacock Moth Cropped Jacket has now been split into its own section to account for the difference in development timeline. The completion of this project's sample is top priority once our production partner returns from holiday.

While a late May delivery is still possible for this project, the print factory handling this jacket's printing has historically caused delays for us. The Spanish Moon Moth Dress’ most recent sample is very promising, and we believe one more sample will get us across the finish line. We have submitted the requested changes to aim for a knee length fit, and are also changing the spots on the bottom section and neckline to a lighter shade to more closely match the sketch.

The digital pattern for the new length has been completed, and a sample will be constructed after the CNY break. We are nearly certain this will be the last sample needed to reach approval status for this project, but to give our production partner and project manager breathing room for the sample to be completed, shipped, and reviewed, we will be shifting this piece's ESD range to late May.

The Mothman Dress' current sample is disappointing to say the least. The fabric colors are too light, the bust shape needs work, and the scalloped neckline was lost in translation, among other things.

We have since changed the fabric to that of the Honey Bee Summer Gown (85% Rayon, 15% Linen), as we've already tested this fabric and know it to be high quality, a good texture and drape, and ideal for printed patterns.

Sampling has begun, and will finish after the upcoming CNY break. Like with its sister design, we will be lengthening the ESD range to better reflect this project's timeline depending on the next sample review.

After numerous samples of the Love-Me Dress project, we've come to the conclusion that while these samples have been beautiful, there are certain fit and design issues that this factory is not equipped to fully resolve.

This design-- and our customers deserve an outfit that does not compromise on comfort nor style. Therefore we've made the decision to move this project to a new factory partner that we believe has the technical chops to tackle this project. As they handle our Mushroom Dress, they've shown an understanding of the aesthetics and quality we strive for.

Once CNY break ends, this project and its Love-Me-Not variant will be given top priority by this production partner. As they do not handle other current pre-order projects, this will not interfere with the development schedule.

To give them adequate time to develop this complex design, we will be moving the ESD to late August. We understand this is a significant leap forward on the schedule, and want our customers to know their satisfaction is our upmost priority. If you are not willing to wait, please reach out to us at support@mochipan.com, and we will process a full refund for you, no questions asked.

We are pleasantly surprised to inform our customers the newest Plague Doctor Dress sample was in fact, completed before CNY break commenced and is now en route for review! For this sample, we tested out a new fabric type as well as a darker color. While the drape of the fabric looks quite promising, we may have gone a bit too dark for this style. More news to come in next newsletter once we've had time to review this latest sample!

The Plague Doctor Dress, and the other designs that utilize a Plague Doctor Mask, are an incredibly ambitious style, working with details that are all new to us. As such, to ensure we deliver a final product that will meet expectations, the new Estimated Shipping Date range spans a longer time frame that the other PSPOs. Please feel free to contact us if ever this timeline does not work for you.

Early-Sample of the Aurora Borealis Suit Vest and Jacket

The Aurora Borealis Jacket, Vest, and Tie in Icy Blue have been approved, and the next step will be product photo creation. We have also finalized the size charts and fiber content, which will be uploaded to the listing in the next few days. Once photos are taken, the listing will transition from its current PSPO status to a 1-2 week long Pre-Order window. We will also be sending out a MochiPing to let buyers know to confirm their size and make any necessary address updates, so please be on the look out for that email!

As stated before, we have been developing a button down shirt and pants to complement the Vest, Jacket and Tie set. Those will be available for purchase later on.

Strike off of the Aurora Borealis Purple Vest Print Variant

The Purple Aurora Borealis Variant set was finished just before the CNY break began and is officially en route for review!
