Howdy MochiFam,
We hope you are enjoying the holiday season! It’s time now for the Mochipan Pre-Order Updates Newsletter #33!
Starting off is some news on recent Pre-Orders. We've been made aware that a number of Moth Bags have arrived to customers with quality assurance issues such as scuffed leather and fly-away threads. If you experienced any issues with your Moth Bag, please reach out to us with pictures (at support@mochipan.com) so we can make sure you are taken care of.
The delays from last Newsletter regarding the affected Pre-Order Round #2 Moth Cardigans have been resolved, and most customers have received their tracking by now. If you do not receive your tracking number by this Friday, please let us know. Sometimes Shopify does not automatically update with the tracking information, in which case we would be happy to manually update your order.
We have mostly handled the increased email and order volumes from Black Friday. As we are human and love Christmas just like many of our customers though, we will be maintaining our up-to-72 hour response time until the end of the year.
On a different note, we have been looking at the way our Pre-Order timelines have functioned up until this point, and come to the conclusion some changes need to be made. We know the incremental delays that occur month to month are endlessly frustrating for our customers, and patience can run thin. Because of this, we have taken a long, hard look at our current timelines and made the difficult decision to do one big schedule update, and significantly alter some of the estimated shipping dates.
These new dates have been decided based on the following:
- How many samples we believe will be needed to reach a final product
- Shipping, receiving, and reviewing these samples
- The complexity of the design and whether that will lengthen mass production time
- Accounting for production issues that may arise
- Factoring in time to create product photography
- Shipping from factory to warehouse
- Time needed to conduct quality assurance, count, and prep pieces for shipment to customers
This means some projects may see new dates that are up to 3 months later than last Newsletter. We know this news will not be what many of you want to hear, but our goal going into this new year is to start a new chapter, with more realistic shipping estimates that won’t need to be changed incrementally. While we can’t guarantee obstacles won’t trip us up in the future, we will do our best to make these new estimates more realistic and reliable.
Your trust, happiness, and satisfaction with your customer experience with Mochipan is one of our most important measurements for success, so if you are unhappy with waiting, please reach out to us. All Pre-Sample Pre-Orders are eligible for a full refund, no questions asked.
Onto the news!

Pre-Orders

Production on the Bakery Collection continues, and some pieces have begun shipping to customers.
The following three designs have shipped if your order is not waiting on any other designs:
- Baker's Beret
- Baker's Sweater w/ Cape
- Whole Wheat Shorts
We found the pockets on the Overalls, Overalls Shorts, and Overalls Dress were embroidered incorrectly, so those designs’ shipping dates had to be updated accordingly. We also encountered unexpected issues with the designs involving print, ie. the Croissant Jacket, Melon Pan Set, and Bread Cap. While these issues have been resolved, it did cause a delay in production, and the estimated shipping dates have been updated to reflect this.
Below are the current shipping estimates for each Bakery Collection piece based on the latest timelines:
- Baker's Overalls - January 5th, 2026
- Baker's Overall Shorts - January 5th, 2026
- Baker's Overalls Dress - January 5th, 2026
- Baker's Shirt and Tie - January 5th, 2026
- Cookie Varsity Jacket - January 5th, 2026
- Baguette Pants - January 9th, 2026
- Baguette Jacket - January 23rd, 2026
- Melonpan Top and Skirt - February 5th, 2026
- Croissant Jacket - February 5th, 2026
- Bread Cap - February 15th, 2026

Pre-Sample Pre-Orders (PSPOs)

The Final Approved Sample of the Woodland Shorts (Brown)
We are genuinely thrilled to announce that the Woodland Shorts base design has finally been approved! In-Depth Size Charts have been uploaded to the listing, and we encourage you to double check those and reach out to us (support@mochipan.com) if you need to update your size or shipping address.
The fabric content is 98.2% Cotton, 1.8% Spandex. The construction of the Woodland Shorts is like that of a denim short with a modest amount of stretch and give in the waist. You can expect this garment to behave like jeans with spandex/stretch content in them.
The Woodland Shorts officially moved from Pre-Sample Pre-Order status to the standard Pre-Order phase, and will have a window to purchase that will end on December 26th. At that point the next chance to purchase will be during a future restock.
Production will begin immediately after the purchase window ends, and we anticipate shipping to customers will begin in late March.
We are very happy to finally begin production on this long-awaited project but understand that many of you have been waiting an exceedingly long time on these. If you have other items ready to ship on an order containing the Woodland Shorts, Please let us know, and we will ship them out at no additional cost.

Estimated Shipping Date: March 30th, 2026
───────────────────────୨ৎ───────────────────────

The Woodland Shorts (Green Colorway)
While the Brown colorway is ready to begin production, the Green colorway is still under review. Going forward, these two colorways will be split into two sections on the Newsletter.
The Woodland Shorts in Green will be using the same approved base as the Brown, though the fabric color still needs to be seen in person to be approved. We will be setting the estimated shipping date a month out from the Brown colorway to give our project manager time to ensure it meets your expectations.
As with the the Brown Shorts, please reach out to us if you have other items waiting to ship in an order with the Woodland Shorts (Green)

Estimated Shipping Date: April 30th, 2026

The Final Approved Sample of the Honey Bee Summer Gown
The Honey Bee Summer Gown is the second of three long-running Pre-Sample Pre-Orders that we are ecstatic to announce has had the final product approved! In-Depth Size Charts have been uploaded to this listing as well, and we are asking customers to submit size/address change requests if need be.
The new In-Depth Size Charts are measurements of this gown flat, not while worn. The back of the dress has shirring that provides a significant amount of stretch, so pay more attention to the bust measurements from the Quick Sizing Guide, as they are more indicative of the bust measurements per size.
The fabric content is 85% Rayon, 15% Linen. The waist band wing bow is 100% Tencel.
The Honey Bee Summer Gown has also officially moved from Pre-Sample Pre-Order status to the standard Pre-Order phase, and will have a window to purchase that will end on December 26th. At that point the next chance to purchase will be during a future restock.
Production will begin immediately after the purchase window ends, and we anticipate shipping to customers will begin in late March.
We’re excited to finally begin production on this long-anticipated project! As with the Woodland Shorts, if your order includes the Honey Bee Summer Gown and other items that are ready to ship, let us know! We’ll send the available items separately at no extra charge.
Timeline:
- Estimated Shipping Date: March 30th, 2026

The Final Approved Sample of the Death's Head Cropped Moth Jacket
The Death’s Head Moth Cropped Jacket is the final of three Pre-Sample Pre-Orders to have its final design approved! In-Depth Size Charts have been uploaded to this listing as well, and we are asking customers to submit size/address change requests if need be.
The fabric content for the exterior is 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex. The interior lining is 100% Cotton.
The Death’s Head Moth Cropped Jacket joins the previous two projects in officially moving from Pre-Sample Pre-Order status to the standard Pre-Order phase, and will have a window to purchase that will end on December 26th. At that point the next chance to purchase will be during a future restock.
Production will begin immediately after the purchase window ends, and we anticipate shipping to customers will begin in late March.
As with the Woodland Shorts and Honey Bee Summer Gown, if your order includes any of the Moth Cropped Jackets and other items that are ready to ship, let us know! We’ll send the available items separately at no extra charge.

The Peacock Moth and Mothman Cropped Jackets
Now that the Moth Cropped Jacket base design has been approved, we can finish development on the other two variants with PSPOs – the Peacock Moth and Mothman. For ease of information, we have split these two variants into their own section.
The In-Depth Size Charts made for the Death’s Head variant also apply to these two, and have been uploaded to their listings as well. The fabric content is the same – the exterior is 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex. The interior lining is 100% Cotton.
We anticipate development of the different embroidery and print of these variants to take between 4 - 6 weeks, so to be safe, we are setting the new shipping estimates for both of these variants as mid-May to account for the need for multiple samples. If we get it right on the first try and production can begin sooner, we will adjust the shipping estimates accordingly.
As with the previous projects, we welcome customers to reach out and let us know if the rest of your order has been waiting on this PSPO, and we would be happy to ship your items in advance of this jacket at no additional cost.
Timeline:
- Estimated Shipping Date: May 30th, 2026

As with two of the previous projects, we are also splitting the Moth Dresses into two sections. The Spanish Moon Moth Dress’ most recent sample is very promising, and we believe one more sample will get us across the finish line. We plan to shorten the next sample a few inches and address some fit issues.
To account for this hopefully last sample to be shipped to us, reviewed, and any other obstacles that may arise, we are moving the shipping date to what we hope to be one final time, and setting the estimate for mid-April.
If your order is only waiting on the Moth Dresses, please reach out! We’re happy to ship the rest of your order now at no extra cost as a thank-you for your understanding.
Timeline:
- Estimated Shipping Date: April 30th, 2026
───────────────────────୨ৎ───────────────────────

The Mothman Dress' current sample is disappointing to say the least. The fabric colors are too light, the bust shape needs work, and the scalloped neckline was lost in translation, among other things.
We have submitted changes to our factory partners to bring this dress more in line with our original vision. As it stands, this variant needs more work than the Spanish Moon Moth variant, so we are setting its shipping estimate to a month behind its sister design.
If your order is only waiting on the Moth Dresses, please reach out! We’re happy to ship the rest of your order now at no extra cost as a thank-you for your understanding.

The last sample for the Love-Me Dress has been reviewed in full-- and the look is great, but the sample showed the following issues:
- Tightness in the shoulders
- Low-Quality Accessories/Peripheries
- Recycled Polyester Lining (Cotton is the final goal, for a smoother feel)
- Wearability/Quality of Life Issues
New Information:
There have consistently been comments made expressing disappointment with the look of the Love-Me Dress’ fabric. We want only the best for our customers, and as such, we are exploring an alternative fabric that will satisfy our need for high quality and meet our customer’s expectations.
This does however mean that more samples will be required. In addition, through developing this style, the complexity of design has shown to take a higher than average time to accomplish. To account for what will likely be a longer production time than many of our other projects once a final sample is approved and mass production begins, we are extending the shipping estimate to end of May.
Please continue to monitor our updates, and let us know if the timeline doesn't work for you moving forward. We're always happy to help at support@mochipan.com.

The Love-Me-Not Dress is a variant of the Love-Me Dress, and shares the same level of intricate design and construction.
This project is still moving forward, but has not seen any significant changes since last Newsletter. We will be updating the shipping estimate to match that of its sister design, putting the new shipping date at end of May.
Please continue to monitor our updates, and let us know if the timeline doesn't work for you moving forward. We're always happy to help at support@mochipan.com.

The Glorp Cat Cropped Jacket and Skirt Set has made tremendous progress, with the first Jacket sample having been reviewed, and we believe only one more sample is needed to reach a final, approvable product.
The Tech Skirt sample was shipped earlier this week, and we don’t expect more than one more sample will be needed for it either. That being said, in an effort to get long delayed projects out to customers as fast as possible, we have gotten into the habit of skipping the Photoshoot Phase. As this is one of our newer Pre-Sample Pre-Orders, we want to change that, and make sure customers waiting for a final approved sample before they make their purchase have a chance to see this out-of-this-world set in the best light possible. To that end, we will be extending this project’s shipping estimate to May 15th.
If you need any assistance regarding your order, please reach out to us at support@mochipan.com – we are happy to assist.

Since the last time we spoke, we received the most recent sample of the Plague Doctor Dress, and here's the latest news and insights:
- The length issues have been resolved, and we found the fabric color to be much better when viewed in new lighting. The faux leather details are still planned to be improved however.
- The Mask detail is quite frankly sad and lifeless. We anticipate an entire overhaul of that aspect of the design will be needed to ensure a product our customers will be proud to wear.
- To this end, we are exploring the option of getting molds made for the Plague Doctor Mask. Our factory has let us know different sized masks will be needed for the different sizes of the design we currently offer. As such, this means experimentation is required to ensure the mask looks correct and proportionate regardless of dress size.
The Plague Doctor Dress, and the other designs that utilize a Plague Doctor Mask, are an incredibly ambitious style, working with details that are all new to us. As such, to ensure that this style is not rushed, that a photoshoot can be factored into the schedule, and that mass production is given the realistic time needed, we have made the decision to significantly change the timeline on this project. The new estimated shipping date for the Plague Doctor Dress will be mid-June.
We respect you as customers and greatly appreciate the trust you give us when you choose to purchase a PSPO. Given the significant jump in date, we ask that customers let us know if you are no longer willing to wait. All Pre-Sample Pre-Orders are eligible for a full refund, no questions asked.

Early-Sample of the Aurora Borealis Suit Vest and Jacket
The Aurora Borealis Vest and Jacket have been received, reviewed, and changes submitted to our factory. As stated during the last Newsletter, we will be reinforcing the buttons to ensure they are secure and durable, moving the side seam forward to create a more slimming effect, and modifying the vest emblem embroidery for starters.
The next sample is in progress, and expected to be finished and on its way to us by the next Newsletter. As with the previous projects, we will be adjusting the timeline to account for a photoshoot phase and ensure mass production has time to be completed.
Thank you for your continued interest in this stunning formal set. If you have any questions, or need to make any changes to your order, please reach out to us at support@mochipan.com.

Thanks so much for hanging in there with us on this long-term project. We’re working hard to make sure the final piece really feels worth the wait!
